I'll Do My Best, What Else Can I Do?
Ever have one small thing sorta ruin the whole evening?
Things started out well enough
My grandma and I curled up on the couch and watched Say Anything (I AM IN LOVE WITH TEEN!JOHNCUSAK))
Then later, she started asking me if I had signed up to retake the SAT
I was honest and told her no, and when I tried to explain that I've had so much on my mind and stuff...
She just started yelling at me
And it just led into other stuff
Which reminds me, I need to talk to Suu-chan, I'm not sure if the weekend plans can go through or not
Blerg
Anyways....
I feel like nothing I can do will ever make her happy
No matter what I'm not good enough
Just this big ball of flaws
Someday though, somewhow, I'm going to get something right
I'm going to do something great and then she won't have to be so ashamed of me
I'll become a girl she can be proud of
A girl she can love
I don't know how I'll manage it
But someohow, someway, I'm going to
Cause I mean, I can't keep fucking up forever, right?
Eventually, I'm going to have to get something right
I hope
Song of The Entry:
Proud of Your Boy
Proud of your boy
I'll make you proud of your boy
Believe me, bad as I've been, Ma
You're in for a pleasant surprise
I've wasted time
I've wasted me
So say I'm slow for my age
A late bloomer, okay, I agree
That I've been one rotten kid
Some son, some pride and some joy
But I'll get over these lousin' up
Messin' up, screwin' up times
You'll se, Ma, now comes the better part
Someone's gonna make good
Cross his stupid heart
Make good and finally make you
Proud of your boy
Tell me that I've been a louse and a loafer
You won't get a fight here, no ma'am
Say I'm a goldbrick, a goof-off, no good
But that couldn't be all that I am
Water flows under the bridge
Let it pass, let it go
There's no good reason that you should believe me
Not yet, I know, but
Someday and soon
I'll make you proud of your boy
Though I can't make myself taller
Or smarter or handsome or wise
I'll do my best, what else can I do?
Since I wasn't born perfect like Dad or you
Mom, I will try to
Try hard to make you
Proud of your boy
(A song cut from Aladin. It can be found on the Disney Music Behind The Magic CDs, or the Aladin Special Edition DVD. I Think Clay Aiken did his own version of it, but I prefer the original demo. Egads, I digress. Anyways, I first heard it back in fifth grade or so, and it's always gotten to me. Just recently redownloaded it. You can find it Here I dunno, I just think this is something everyone can relate to at some point or another)
