ZOMG MORE FANDOM RANTS?!
So, I was thinking about fandoms today
And how I get into them and stuff
And alot has to do with how I connect to the characters
I think that's my problem with Naruto
I don't really feel anything for most of the characters
Except Lee
OMG I LOVE LEE *_*
And to me, it's not really his looks, but it's his personality
He's very admirable to me
And not nearly as wangsty as alot of the cast
I like Sakura and Ino well enough too
Maybe I just need to read more, but so far, that's about it
Oh, and of course Gai. *_*
But let's look at some of my favorite fandoms, like Saiyuki
The plot in Saiyuki is not always strong or great, but what keeps me going is the characters
Espically Gojyo
To me...I can relate to Gojyo alot
"I wouldn't of minded dying if she only stopped crying"
Sadly, that's how I felt with my mom alot of the time
I mean, she didn't beat the crap out of me like his did, but it was still an unhealthy relationship in alot of ways
I can feel alot of sympathy for him, he hasn't had it easy
And how he goes after Kami-sama because of those kids...man, I adore that arc so much
I'm pretty partial to the other characters too
Hakkai just intrigues me, because he's so complex
And I just love the relationship between him and Gojyo
Whether you see it as platonic, or whatever
It's sad, how many people completely butcher him and make him the whiney uke boy
Really, it's come to the point where pretty much the only person I trust with Hakkai is Hyatt
Sanzo, I definetly feel bad for, and then Goku is just adorable
I want to hug him, like all the time
The only character I really dislike is probably Nii, and that's cause he creeps me out
And yeah...going to end the rant there, I could go into other fandoms, like Fruits Basket, but I've already sort of covered that XD
Anyways, how I connect to characters greatly effects how much I like a series
And how I get into them and stuff
