Title: A Long Nine Months
Series: Fruits Basket
Pairing: Ayame/Hatori
Rating: Pg-13
Warnings: Crack!Fic idea. If you know anything about seahorses...come on, who hasn't thought of this? >> Drabble really: 257 words and all. This is why I should not be allowed when I am bored and slightly sleep deprived.
Hatori just hung his head. He knew letting Ayame top had been a bad idea. But this bad…? Even he could not of predicted it. But it made enough sense…considering what he turned into.
“Ayame, we need to have a talk,” He finally managed to say as he stepped out of the bathroom and into his room. The snake snuck in there almost every night, not that he minded or anything like that. Well…he minded sometimes.
“Maa, Tori-san, is something wrong?” Ayame asked with a head tilt, looking up from his fashion magazine. He was sprawled out over their bed, his feet dangling over the side.
“Yes..” Hatori felt his throat go dry. Why, why, was this happening him of all people? “I’m pregnant.”
Ayame just blinked in confusion. “But Tori-san…you’re a man.”
Hatori groaned, he was going to have to explain this, wasn’t he? “Ayame…you do know what animal I actually turn into, yes?”
Ayame pouted. “Of course! I’m not stupid. What a silly question, Tori-san!”
“Seahorses…the males carry the babies”
“Oh. But that means..” And slowly, but surely, it dawned on Ayame. “Oh! So that’s why you didn’t want me to top!”
“Well…no…but..” Hatori felt awkward, what was he supposed to say? What would they do? This was not a situation he ever expected to be in.
And within moments, Ayame at his side, hugging him, with a gleeful smile that almost made him uncomfortable.
“I think Tori-san will make a wonderful mother”
…This was going to be the longest nine months of his life.
