There's a lot going on, good and bad, but for just this moment, I want to focus on something big and good:

Despite how....challenging and sometimes downright awful the past two years have been, I still graduated with my second masters, this time in Clinical Psychology. I got glowing remarks about my clinical work from my supervisors. Now I just need to wait for my school to send me the stuff I need to send off to the BBS so I can get my associate number and start working.

I think it's so easy with how much bad there's been to forget my own accomplishments. So this is me, trying not to do that. The other stuff I'll figure out. Right now I want to savor a win.

i'm so proud of you for sticking it out and completing your psychology masters. i know it was a rough ride here and there, especially with afore not mentioned bad things going on, but YOU DID IT. and now you're going to have so many other doors to opportunities open up to you that hopefully you won't have to be in any of those not fun situations again. i'm excited for the things the future holds for you.

Thank you, I'm excited too. I'm just hoping I can get through the associate application process quickly so I have better opportunities for work -- which will also help me as far as housing goes.

Yes, it'll still tie me to california (unless i decided to apply in another state, which is kind of a headache of it's own) but we're a big state, with a lot of areas. there's definitely areas i would prefer to stay in, ideally, but we'll see how it all shakes out.

a big state with areas that aren't as pricey as those around los angeles. i made the mistake of googling that one time and winced on your behalf.

yeah, I mean i will probably stay in the general LA area as that's where a lot of the jobs with the populations i want to work with are, but yeah it is fucking ridiculous out here....and yet every time we try to pass rent control laws people vote against it!! and then complain about the homelessness rate!!!

sorry that's a bit of a tagent, i just have some Feelings.

those are very valid feelings to have. the homelessness rate in your state is ridiculous, and it almost seems like people enjoy complaining about it more than they do solving the problem and helping these people find housing and get back on their feet.
